Turkey Sausage Patties

We were having some family over for breakfast a few days ago, with my husband making his specialty crepes and myself in charge of the other items.  Scrambled eggs were an obvious choice, and I realized I had the perfect recipe for turkey sausage seasoning from the Turkey Sausage Marinara I made before.  Plus, with ground turkey, I knew I'd be making a great lean breakfast option.  I am always looking for the perfect combination of great flavor while still trying healthier choices.

In a mixing bowl, I combined the ground turkey, Italian seasoning mix, salt, fennel seed, pepper, minced onion, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, thyme, cloves, nutmeg, and allspice

After heating some olive oil in a cast iron skillet, I added the sausage patties.  I let them cook for about 3 minutes then flipped them over and repeated to brown the other side.

When I made the Turkey Sausage Marinara before, you could taste the seasoning but it was mixed in with the pasta sauce.  This time we got to really taste the sausage seasoning and it was really great.  My family all said it was great, and my husbands crepes were delicious as always (maybe one day he'll let me share his crepe recipe).  I made eggs to complete the meal, and we ended up with an awesome breakfast!  Why would I buy frozen sausage again when making it's so easy?  Even better:  mix the seasonings together in a ziploc for quick, easy mixing in the morning to make breakfast a breeze.
